Local businessman and self-made millionnaire, David Gold was the VIP guest at the launch of a new networking group in Caterham recently. The Business Executives Association (BEA) was established in 2006 and Thursday 19th May saw the launch of the new Caterham branch. Around 100 guests attended the event held at the Surrey National Golf Club in Chaldon. During the course of the evening the guests had the opportunity to meet other local professionals and chat over drinks and a delicious buffet. Clive Wilson of Paramount Web Design gave a welcoming speech and introduced the other founder members, followed by an entertaining talk by David Gold. Mr Gold, owner of Gold Group International and joint-owner of West Ham Football Club, gave a fascinating insight into the background to his success and his triumph over adversity, before answering questions from the audience. Glen O'Dwyer, one of Caterham BEA's founder members and owner of Computer Solutions in Caterhamon- the-Hill, said: "We are very pleased with the attendance tonight - all our work has come together very well. We are delighted that David Gold has come along to show his support for Caterham BEA. This is a great way for local business people to meet each other in a social setting." The Caterham BEA meets on every third Thursday of the month at the Surrey National Golf Club in Rook Lane, Chaldon. The next meeting is taking place on Thursday 16th June from 6.30-8.30pm.
