A Welcome to the DrawingRoom class at Woldingham Village Hall.

Welcome to the Drawing Room opened its doors in 2012 with the aim of inspiring and encouraging local adults to join together for some creative fun. Now in its second year, Welcome to the Drawing Room has recently added an extra class, ‘Just Drawing’ to the existing watercolour classes. This class is aimed at the complete beginner and those wishing to improve their confidence or experiment with a wider range of media.

Tracey Bengeyfield started Welcome to the Drawing Room with the aim of providing relaxed, fun and accessible art classes for all. Her background in Graphics and Media was put to good use during her 14 years of teaching secondary and sixth form students.

Tracey left mainstream education to pursue her ambition of starting her own art classes. She says: “I believe that with support you can really improve, even if you find drawing and painting a challenge. All you need is to approach it with joy and enthusiasm”.

The informal and cosy surroundings of Woldingham Village Hall allows students to enjoy their lessons alongside complimentary cups of tea, coffee and a sweet treat for an overall unique experience. Whether you are a complete beginner or a more experienced artist, Welcome to the Drawing Room offers you the opportunity to indulge in a little ‘me’ time and draw for pleasure.

Tracey says: “I really look forward to seeing my students each week. Some of them are now entering their second year of classes with me and it has been a real pleasure to get to know each of them. It is so lovely to see their skill and confidence growing.”

Welcome to the Drawing Room is open to students on Wednesday and Thursday mornings for watercolour classes. These run from 10am until noon. ‘Just Drawing’ runs on Thursday afternoons from 12.45-2.45pm.
