Three cheers for Caterham-based party provider as they celebrate their first year in business
Caterham-based The Hip Hooray Company, a home-hosted party business, is celebrating its first year anniversary today with further growth and investment on the horizon for this family venture. Mother and daughter, Kathy Reddin and Natasha Nicolaou, co-founded the business in July 2017 and their feet have not touched the ground since. Their Belle tent parties are the bread and butter of their business with sleepover parties, allowing for smaller style tee-pees, following closely behind. The concept Of The Hip Hooray Company is simple; to create an all-year round business that provides a bespoke style for any special occasion. From children’s parties to holy-communion gatherings, Natasha and Kathy have enjoyed styling a total of 52 parties since they established only 12 months ago. A year on and the dynamic duo are seeing a number of repeat bookings, with word of mouth spreading across East Surrey as demand for this type of contemporary and chic style party is rising. Natasha, a mum of two boys, recognised there was a gap in the market to not only provide a space where parties can be held outside, but to theme each party in contemporary colours which are both calming and inviting in equal measure. The Hip Hooray Company is a far cry from the bright colours normally associated with children’s parties – pinks, creams and greys all blend beautifully against the neutral colour of the belle tent, with fairy lights and flowers adorning the low-level tables and scatter cushions that welcome you as you step into a captivating world. Alternatively, smaller tee-pee sleepovers in a ‘gaming’ style or ‘chill out’ theme is appealing to smaller numbers. The Hip Hooray Company has invested in a second belle tent recently, mainly to deliver on the number of same day bookings in the summer months ahead. Enlisting the help of wider family members during peak periods will meet this demand, with the reassurance that each event will be replicated to Natasha and Kathy’s high standards.
Natasha Nicolaou, co-founder of The Hip Hooray Company, commented: “We have had an amazing and fun first year, which has delivered way above our expectations. When you come up with a business idea, you only hope people will love it as much as you do. The good news is, people are responding well and repeat bookings are all contributing to an even more successful 12 months ahead. “Looking forward, our aim is to maintain and improve on our current business model. However, we are excited about exploring other markets, such as weddings and family gatherings, in terms of providing a relaxing and fun space for guests to enjoy with their children. The market is endless really; hen nights, milestone birthday celebrations and children’s parties for all ages feature highly, so we have everything to play for.”
