The Royal Tandoori in Whyteleafe is celebrating the arrival of summer this month with the introduction of its mouthwatering new Summer Menu. With soaring temperatures outside, the new menu choices are light and refreshing, mildly spiced, with the perfect combination of textures and flavours. The menu focuses mainly on vegetables, seafood and chicken with some tasty variations to the rice and nan bread accompaniments. For starters, the Mango Salad - juicy mango with pineapple and cucumber - is a delightfully fresh dish that cleanses the palette. The other choices are Tandoori Phool, mildly-spiced, tender chicken with a creamy yoghurt and mustard sauce and Puchara King Prawn, with a crunchy coating on the outside served with a sauce made from onion, tomato, mustard and Indian spices. The main courses include Chicken Harisha Salad - chicken in a paprika sauce with salad. The Vegetable Harisha Salad features the same delicious sauce, but with fresh asparagus and cucumber, providing a tasty vegetarian alternative to the traditional meat version. The two other main course choices are Seafood Curry and Saffron Tandoori Jhinga - King Prawns marinated in herbs and spices and baked in the oven. The Seafood Curry makes a wonderful alternative to meat, with the perfect balance of spices not overpowering the flavour of the delicately cooked fish. As an accompaniment to the main courses, the Cheese and Chille Nan is a great 'tear and share' dish, with the Chille side of the nan proving to be the spiciest item on the summer menu! The cumin-flavoured Jeera Rice has been especially selected for the summer menu to perfectly complement the main courses. For lovers of fine Indian food, the summer menu offers some fresh and exciting new choices for a warm summer evening.
