The period charm of the historic flint premises of 'Chez Vous' in Warlingham provides the perfect gift-wrap for the superb dining experience awaiting you inside.

The interior is sleek, modern and sophisticated, with welcoming staff providing the perfect level of service.

'Chez Vous' opened just a few weeks ago opposite The Horseshoe on the Limpsfield Road and I had the pleasure of dining there recently with my son Andrew. When we arrived, the restaurant manager, Thomas, invited us to have a relaxing drink and peruse the menu in the bar before going through to the dining area.

When we went into the restaurant itself, I was struck by how spacious it was, with plenty of room between the tables. "Pristine!" was Andrew's observation as we were seated at our table.

The food is prepared by the founding owner, Martin Bradley and his co-owner, Laurent Pacaud, previously the head chef at La Barbe in Reigate. Thanks to their many years of experience working in top restaurants, Warlingham now has a superb fine dining venue to rival any in London, without the 'up-town' prices. For starters I had the 'Entrée du jour' which for this evening was 'Duo of Salmon' consisting of a salmon and spinach terrine and roasted salmon rillette with a pink peppercorn crème fraiche. Andrew had the Terrine of local Pheasant and Armagnac Prunes. Both starters were a feast for the eyes as well as tasting wonderful.

For our main courses, Andrew tried venison for the first time, served with 'a bitter chocolate sauce and pancetta wrapped pigeon' while I had a tender rib-eye steak with peppercorn sauce. Head Chef Laurent emerged from the kitchen to have a chat with the diners whilst we ate dessert, and when he came over we had the opportunity to talk to him about the restaurant and tell him how much we had enjoyed our meal.

Laurent said that they are looking forward to their first Christmas when they will be open for Christmas Day lunch.
