On Thursday 1st March, World Book Day, Warlingham Park School pupils had an exciting day when the children's author, Ian MacDonald, visited the school. Mr MacDonald presented various workshops about stories to children from Pre-School to Year Six. Some pupils even made 'Eyeball Soup' – the name of one of the author's popular books! Afterwards, Mr MacDonald cut a ribbon to open the new fiction library that has been recently restocked and refurbished. The new library is the result of the hard work from a group of parents and the generosity of local publishers who donated five boxes of books. Following the visit, headteacher, Mike Donald, said: 'When children see an author all of a sudden their stories come to life so it was very exciting for the children to meet Ian MacDonald. His stories really appeal to children. Hopefully his visit will inspire one or two of them to become authors!"
