On Thursday 5th June, Coulsdon CofE Primary retained their crown as Primary Sports Festival Champions in a thrilling relay final at the end of a highly competitive sports festival at Oasis Academy Coulsdon. 280 students from seven primary schools from Caterham, Coulsdon, Kenley and Purley enjoyed a highly competitive, fun day of sports that included high jump, hockey, an assault course, ultimate Frisbee and tug of war. Academy students in Years 9 and 10 acted as Team Leaders, supporting and encouraging their primary teams as they competed in each event. The Rotary Club of Coulsdon Manor, sponsors of the event, presented participants with medals and were delighted to hand over the Championship Cup to Coulsdon CofE and runner-up medals to Purley Oaks Primary. Andy Booth, Principal of Oasis Academy Coulsdon said: “This is one of the highlights of our summer term primary programme, which I look forward to every year. I would like to congratulate and thank all the competitors and my thanks also to the Oasis PE staff and students who pulled out all the stops to ensure everyone enjoyed the day.” |
