The feel-good factor that comes from joining in with others to perform a great song is proving to be addictive for the members of an exciting new choir! The Oxted Glee Choir has only been going for one month, but the choir is already producing some wonderful harmonies and forging new friendships. The choir is run by Musical Director Michael Grant and Vocal and Performance Coach, Fran Nevitt, who both have years of experience in the music profession. Fran said: "The big thing for us is to get people along once a week who just want to enjoy singing and be part of a developing group. The beginners are being encouraged by the experienced singers and the camaraderie is great. New members are always welcome to come and join us and we would especially like to encourage some guys to come along." The choir's repertoire includes lively songs such as 'I'm So Excited' by the Pointer Sisters and 'Baby Remember my Name' from the TV show 'Fame'. Choir member, Carly Thompson, said: "The choir is just like-minded people enjoying a couple of hours of singing. It's good to hear people who didn't think they could sing hitting the right note and enjoying themselves!" The choir is having a break for half term and will restart the week beginning 5th June when new members are welcome to join in. See the advertisement above for more details. |
