This month we feature Caterham resident, Mary Mountain, who is Chairman of Caterham-on-the-Hill Parish Council. Birthplace: St. Columb, Cornwall. Marital Status: Happily married. Children: Four plus eight grandchildren. Cars: Skoda. Pets: None. Pastimes: Gardening, reading, meeting friends. Favourite Food & Drink: Anything that doesn't move plus wine. Childhood hero: Biggles. (Showing my age!) Likes: Classical music and jazz. Dislikes: Pointless vandalism. Favourite TV show: The Virgin adverts! A combination of both TV and song, plus humour. Favourite books: Anything by Terry Pratchett or C. J. Sansom. Favourite holiday destination: Peru. Biggest influence on your life: My parents. Proudest moment: Having the opportunity to work with the Parish Councillors whose expertise and enthusiasm I value and admire. Most embarrassing moment: It will be at the next Parish Council meeting after being 'In the Spotlight'! Where would you most like to live? On Caterham Hill. Who would you most like to meet? David Attenborough. Who would you most like to throw a custard pie at? The vandals who destroyed the trees planted by the Parish Council. If you won the Lottery jackpot, how would you spend it? I would spend it on my family and some special friends - and buy a new Skoda! |
