This month we feature te President of Caterham Rotary Club, Peter Georgiades. Birthplace: Nicosia, Southern Cyprus. Marital Status: Married for over 40 years. Children: Three grown up sons - Scott 40, Ryan 35 and Grant 31 and three grandchildren by Scott. Cars: Audi A8. Pets: None. Childhood hero: King Constantine of Greece. Favourite Food & Drink: Grilled fish; Beer and red wine. Pastimes: Entertaining my grandchildren; Rotary involvement especially in organising fundraising events and taking part in district sports; running, cycling and swimming; learning foreign languages. Likes: My work and working with people. Dislikes: Rudeness and lack of consideration for others. Favourite TV Shows: 'Only Fools and Horses' and 'Drop the Dead Donkey'. Favourite books: John Grisham novels written in foreign languages (French, Spanish, Italian, German, Russian etc.) Who would you most like to throw a custard pie at? Tony Blair. Favourite song of all time: 'That's Amore' by Dean Martin. Favourite holiday destination: Anywhere warm and sunny with sandy beaches. Biggest influence on your life: My army training as an officer getting me accustomed to substantial responsibility at the age of 18. Proudest moment: Becoming a father and second proudest becoming a grandfather. Most embarrassing moment: Coming last by far in a father and son swimming race. Where would you most like to live? Near my children and grandchildren. Who would you most like to meet? The Queen. If you won the Lottery jackpot, how would you spend it? I would give it all away to my children and some to charity. |
