This month we feature Tandridge District Councillor for the Queen's Park, Caterham Ward, Geoff Duck. Geoff is also chairman of the Steering Group of the CR3 Forum working on the Neighbourhood Plan and is a member of Caterham Rotary Club. Birthplace: Darlington. Marital Status: Married to Hetty for 34 years. Children: Two children, Peter and Miriam plus two grandchildren, Brooklyne and Joshua. Cars: Two 1989 BMWs and two Gwynnes from 1925/6. The factory was in Chiswick, Church Wharf. I also own a modern Triumph motorbike. Pets: A collie, Lucy, that we look after for a friend. Favourite Food & Drink: Liver and bacon and St Emilion, but not in the same meal. Childhood hero: My dad. Pastimes: Fettling the old cars. Likes: The Neighbourhood Plan taking shape. Dislikes: Anything holding that up. Favourite TV show: The Magic Roundabout, though it seems not to be on now. Otherwise programs like Morse or The Sweeney are good to unwind. Favourite books: 'Social Entrepreneurship' edited by Mair Robertson and Hockerts; 'La Reparation des Automobiles' by Pierre Maillard. Who would you most like to throw a custard pie at? John Prescott, as he'd likely throw one back. Favourite song of all time: 'Yours is no Disgrace' - an early number by the band 'Yes'. Favourite holiday destination: Holland. Biggest influence on your life: Hetty. Proudest moment: Marrying Hetty. Most embarrassing moment: Too numerous to choose one, and still they arrive. Where would you most like to live? Caterham. Who would you most like to meet? The next Prime Minister. If you won the Lottery jackpot, how would you spend it? Settle the Neighbourhood Plan marketing budget and buy 67 Croydon Road (the Rose & Young building) and get that building back to work. |
