Forget the A-Team! Let's hear it for Caterham's VTeam! Team membership is for busy people who want to volunteer but can't commit on a regular basis. It's also for existing volunteers who feel there are times when they'd like to give a bit more.
How does it work? Charitable organisations and community projects needing help for special events contact the Volunteer Centre. They tell us the dates, times and type of help they need - marshalling duties, manning stalls, assembling stands, directing cars, leafleting etc. They also provide the Volunteer Centre with contact details for the person coordinating offers of help.
The Volunteer Centre will email all V-Team members to ask if they are available to help for any part of the event. Members are only expected to let us know if they are free to help and if so their names and contact details are forwarded to the event coordinator. Just a few extra volunteers can make a huge difference to the success of an event.
The V-Team is for busy people who are willing to be contacted by email when help is needed. After all, don't they say: "If you want something done - ask a busy person"?

In the meantime, a Happy New Year to you all!
