On Friday 19th May the three 2017 Carnival beneficiaries, The Breck Foundation, Prospero Theatre and the Caterham Minis staged a Bond Ball at the Surrey National that was shaken, stirred and seriously smooth!
The ball was a sell-out success and included a whole array of entertainment; a casino, a Bond photo backdrop, DJ Kylie Dyer, a Bond Film and games. A host of talented singers covered most of the Bond ballads through the evening - Ella Simms, Ella Richards, Sergio Taddio, Lewis Wade and Chloe Dunn. In addition, the internationally acclaimed dance troupe Urban Interface, led by Matt Harding danced to a fabulous rendition of Skyfall by Louise Harter, and there was magic of the closest and most astonishing kind by Andrew Kelly.
Money was raised for the Carnival through the raffle and a silent auction with some fantastic prizes donated for both, including a signed West Ham Shirt donated by David Gold. The final figure is in and it is £3044.55!
"I am still being contacted by people saying how much they enjoyed it" says Rebecca Bush from the Breck Foundation. "I feel certain that we will work together to put on a similar event again."
"I loved having the chance to work with Breck and the Minis" confirms Beth Wood of Prospero. "We all had our strengths which we brought to the event and it was great to feel supported by the other organisations."
"We had an incredible amount of help on all sorts of levels and we would like to say a very big thank you to David Gold and the others who donated, and to the long list of people who gave time doing all sorts of things on the evening and in the preparation. We are certainly lucky to know, between us, so many people who are both talented and generous."
