This month we feature Caterham resident and local historian, Norman Skinner. Norman is a long-standing member of the Caterham & District Rifle Club and is its Club President.

Favourite Food & Drink: Roast beef, Yorkshire pudding etc. Red Wine.

Pastimes: Writing, riding my motor cycle, target rifle shooting and stewarding at the East Surrey Museum.

Likes: The jovial company of friends. Playing my piano accordion.

Dislikes: Most pop music; wriggling politicians who cannot give a straight answer.

Favourite TV show: "Dad's Army" and "Have I Got News For You".

Favourite books: Military History (any period); Poetry of Rudyard Kipling.

Favourite song of all time: "We'll Meet Again" sung by Vera Lynn.

Who would you most like to throw a custard pie at? The person who invented decorating.

Proudest moment: Winning the Surrey County Essay Competition for school children in 1946 - subject: "The British Empire". Prize: One Guinea.

Most embarrassing moment: I asked a lady when her baby was due and she was not even pregnant!
