If you are experiencing memory problems a new, free reading group in Oxted could help you with: Greater concentration Improved mood Increased social interaction Opportunities for meaningful engagement Weekly sessions are being held in the Reference/Reading Room in Oxted Library every Wednesday from 11am-12 noon. Reading Together is a project designed to allow people experiencing memory problems to continue to enjoy books by reading together and by being read aloud to.Tandridge Voluntary Service Council (TVSC) is a Dementia Friendly Surrey Champion working in partnership with East Surrey Alzheimer’s Society to run the weekly reading group. The group will be led by volunteers who will carefully choose poems, short stories or items of current interest to read aloud. Participants are also encouraged to bring or suggest material they would like to hear or talk about.
