Beverley Knight took time to relax in her dressing room recently at the Adelphi Theatre in London, after her vocals warm ups. The star, who is currently starring in 'The Bodyguard – The Musical', hosted a Blooming Great Tea Party to show her support for the Marie Curie Cancer Care Campaign. She was joined by Volunteer Press Officer for London and the South East, Karen Green who is based at the Marie Curie offices in Caterham. Beverley is calling on everyone to host a Blooming Great Tea Party between 20th and 29th June to support the charity. Beverley said: “I love nothing better than drinking lots of cups of tea along with eating a slice of my Mum's delicious home-made carrot cake – the best in the world! I would urge everyone to gather their friends and family together and pop the kettle on, then sit down and enjoy their favourite tea party treats. All the money raised will go towards funding the vital nursing care to people with terminal illness, provided by the wonderful Marie Curie nurses.” You can hold your party at home, at work or in your local community. How about hosting a tea party with a theme, hold it somewhere unique, or dig out the cake tins and bake some delicious treats. Whatever you do, the money you raised will allow Marie Curie Cancer Care to care for even more people across the country. Last year 6,500 tea parties were held across the UK, and this year Marie Curie Cancer Care aims to break all records in the week 20th– 29th June.
