Test your stamina in the Big Road Ride.
The Big Road Ride on Sunday 13th July is a brand new event for St Catherine's Hospice that offers a range of courses for different levels of cycling ability. Depending on your experience (and bravery) you can take on one of the 10, 22, 40 or 60 mile routes, starting in Sussex and stretching across Surrey. The trails offer beautiful views without ever leaving marshalled and well signed roads and, thanks to organised water stops and refreshment stations, you can push yourself as hard as you like.
The Big Road Ride starts and ends at Imberhorne School, East Grinstead, an eight-minute cycle ride from East Grinstead Railway Station and a short journey from the Worth Way. The site will offer a free mechanic for checks and repairs as well as ample parking, catering, and games for all the family.
Matthew Cornish, Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager for St Catherine's Hospice, said: "We're very excited to be holding this brand new way for local cyclists to help the hospice. The Big Road Ride is going to heaps of fun whether you're a handlebar hero or easily tyred and we're particularly happy with the beautiful views.
"We have to raise £15,000 every day to keep providing vital hospice care for local people and taking part in events like the Big Road Ride makes a real difference."
Michael Easton, HR Director at Elekta, sponsors of the Big Road Ride, said: "We're proud to sponsor the Big Road Ride, not only is it a great way to get exercise and spend time outdoors, it will help fund the incredibly important hospice care that St Catherine's provides for local people."
Adult entries are £15 and under 16s can ride for £5. You can sign up by going to www.stch.org.uk/bikeride.
