COGS 1 - COGS members Angela Annenberg (South Godstone) and Maria Coyle (Hurst Green). Members and partners of The Caterham Oxted and Godstone Lions (COGS) ventured to Manchester from 9th-11th May for a weekend convention and celebration. Representatives of COGS, which raises money for worthy causes within Tandridge – met other Lions clubs from across the country during the Multiple District Convention at The Palace Hotel. Before the anticipated shin-ding in the evening, the group of 13 attended day sessions which provided news and advice for clubs, and important decision making for the forthcoming year ahead. COGS members talked to others and shared ideas about voluntary and charity work and the different activities held to raise money for worthy causes. And on Saturday evening the COGS party donned glitzy outfits and enjoyed letting their hair down for the convention ball and banquet. The highlight of the evening was the musical entertainment during course intervals, when hundreds of Lions members and partners stood and sang to the likes of 'Food, Glorious Food 'and other show songs. As well as raising money and volunteering for worthy causes within Tandridge, COGS also contribute to international appeals. The club holds a variety of social events throughout the year including walks, quizzes, themed dinners, skittles games and garden parties. COGS would gladly welcome anyone who would like to find out more or get involved to come along to a meeting. Simply email This email address is being protected from spambots.
