Waller Lane, Caterham. Surrey Police is appealing for further witnesses following the third report of a sexual assault in Tandridge. An appeal was launched last week following two reports of sexual assault which occurred between 4pm and 4.30pm on Tuesday 20 May. On those occasions a 15-year-old schoolgirl was assaulted as she walked down Searchwood Road, Warlingham, while later a 20-year-old woman was assaulted as she walked along Waller Lane, Caterham. Following that appeal a third incident has been reported to officers. This happened on Monday 12 May at 9.20pm when a 17-year-old schoolgirl was assaulted in Waller Lane, Caterham. Officers have a more specific description of the suspect following this report. He is described as a young male, in a light to medium blue hatchback or saloon car who had red/ginger coloured hair. Investigating officer Detective Constable Karen Scholey said: "Since the first appeal we have received numerous reports about blue coloured cars, but we are keen to narrow our search focusing on a light to medium blue coloured car which we believe is involved in this linked series of assaults. "We are taking this latest incident extremely seriously and are urging anyone who may have seen anything suspicious to get in touch with us.” Tandridge Safer Neighbourhood Teams have been carrying out extra patrols in the area and have been working with schools as part of an extensive ongoing operation into the incidents. Anyone who has information on this incident is urged to contact Surrey Police either by using our online reporting system found at http://www.surrey.police.uk/ or calling 101 quoting reference 45140041190.
