Coulsdon College Visual Arts Students recently held an exhibition of their work at the College in Placehouse Lane, Old Coulsdon. Fiona Brennan, Head of Visual Arts is proud of the student’s work, “We have an incredibly talented bunch of students here at the College and they have worked very hard this year, with great results. Many of them are going on to University or Art College to progress their work further.” Emily Wood, 19, from Shirley and Belize Nsuh, 18 from Thornton Heath have both completed their BTEC Extended Diploma in Art and Design and had work on display at the exhibition. Emily said: “Coulsdon College has been my second home for three years and I have loved every minute of it. Art is where my heart is and it’s changed my view of life completely.” Adam Spear, another BTEC Extended Diploma student has specialised in photography and is going on to study for an Art Foundation Diploma in Art and Design at Arts University, Bournemouth. He said: “When I started this course, I had no idea what to expect and didn’t know what I wanted to do in the future. All I knew was it had to be art related. In the second year, I discovered my passion for photography and also developed my skills in graphics. I have really started to develop my own style. I didn’t think I’d be in this position of knowing what I want to do, so for that, I’m grateful for the College Visual Arts team for all the opportunities that I have been given.” |
