This weekend sees many local venues holding open events for the public as part of the Caterham Festival. There will be the opportunity to go on a guided tour of the historic Caterham Barracks, see youngsters performing BMX and skateboarding stunts at Skaterham and even search for relics in the archeological dig in historic Caterham-on-the-Hill. See below for a full listing of the venues participating in Open Caterham. Saturday 21st June Caterham & District Horticultural Society 9.30am-12 noon. Trading Hut, Westway Allotments, Caterham Hill. The Trading Hut shop will be open to visitors. Come and talk to experts and enthusiasts and see what is available at the shop. They will give you sound advice on gardening. There will be plants for sale. Or join them as a member, to buy high quality composts and more. Access from Westway or Avenue Road (limited parking). Douglas Brunton Centre, 10am–3pm Park Road, Caterham. Come along to meet the staff for guided tours of this popular and well used centre. Refreshments available Archaeological Dig Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd June, 10am-4pm. Come and try an archaeological dig. Queens Park, Caterham Hill. Sponsored by Caterham Rotary Club. East Surrey Museum 10am-4pm.
