Warlingham School is delighted to be once again celebrating an excellent set of GCSE exam results. With a few results still to be confirmed, approximately 65% of students have gained 5 or more A*-C grades. The percentage of students achieving top grades in both English and Maths has also increased from last year. The new Progress 8 performance measure is also likely to again be a positive figure using last year’s data as a benchmark. Mr Bradwell, Headteacher, was delighted that the hard work of students and teachers has been rewarded. He said “It has been a real pleasure to see so many excited and proud students and parents this morning. I am very pleased that we have again seen a large number of students gaining many top grades of A*/A, but also that the vast majority of students across the whole ability range have achieved or exceeded their expected progress. There has been fantastic achievement across the wide range of subjects that we deliver, which is testament to the high quality teaching and learning at the school. I am confident that this group of students are particularly well-equipped to go on to the next stage of their education either here in Warlingham Sixth Form or at college. Congratulations to all of them.” This year’s top performing students were: Sonya Gholami Olivia Kavanagh Grace King Joseph Burke 10A*, 2A 9A*, 2A, 1B 8A*, 2A, 1B 7A*, 1A, 4B The following students all gained eight or more A*/A grades: Ross George, Tamzin William, Keziah Hardy, Olivia Adam, Rima Maleki, Rebecca Dearden, Caitlin Cox, Sophie Scott and Tilda Vennerholm. |
