| Sam holds packed public meeting on Gatwick Airport Route 4 noise issue |

Over 200 local residents turned out for a meeting with Sam Gyimah MP yesterday evening with concerns raised about the recent changes to the Gatwick Airport Route 4 flight path affecting Horley, Outwood and surrounding areas. Representatives from Gatwick Airport, the Civil Aviation Authority and NATS were also in attendance. The packed meeting took place at Yattendon School in Horley.
Over 12,000 complaints have been sent about the noise issue, with many local people highlighting increased levels of noise severely impacting upon their quality of life and environmental well-being.
Sam said: “I am calling on senior representatives from Gatwick, NATS and the CAA to listen to the concerns of residents as they review the impact of Route 4 from Nov 27th. The strong turnout has sent a clear message that Route 4 flight noise must be reduced wherever possible using all available measures. There have been some improvements in regards to overflying over Horley and put simply, these must be sustained.”
