In praise of East Surrey Hospital We are always reading about problems with the NHS, but I wanted to give you a good news story for a change! I was recently unfortunate in becoming seriously ill with pneumonia and I was taken to the A&E Department at East Surrey Hospital as an emergency. The treatment I received was excellent, and it is no exaggeration to say that the prompt action of the ambulance paramedics and hospital staff saved my life. I was so kindly treated by the staff on Tilgate Ward - the nurses and health care assistants could not do enough for us. They were endlessly patient and gentle. I was especially impressed with the night team, who were often very short-staffed and yet they remained calm and caring with even the most awkward, confused patients. I also want to compliment the new chef because (much to my surprise) the food was beautifully prepared and presented. I had not expected such delicious food, which I really enjoyed as I started to recover. I just wanted to thank all the wonderful staff at ESH for giving me my life back! Dr Anne Tuffill, Warlingham. Thank you On behalf of the staff at East Surrey Dial a Ride, we would like to thank Glen O’Dwyer of Computer Solutions based on The High Street, Caterham-on-the- Hill. On two occasions he has taken time out of his busy schedule at very short or no notice at all to fix serious problems with our computer booking system. Without the system we would not be able to function and provide our very much needed transport service within the local community. Glen O’Dwyer’s expert assistance has kept our service on the road and he is an excellent example of the caring community. Thank you again Glen and Computer Solutions. All the staff at ESDAR |
