Swimmers in Caterham and Oxted will be making a splash for charity on Saturday 9th April and Sunday 10th April as they complete the Swimathon 2011 challenge at Tandridge Leisure Centre or de Stafford Sports Centre, helping to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care. The pools are two of over 580 pools taking part nationwide in Swimathon 2011, with swimmers aiming to raise more than the £2 million raised by Swimathon 2010. The world's biggest fundraising swim is the perfect way to get ready for summer on a healthy note. Swimming is proven to be a great form of exercise whatever your ability, relaxing for mind and body, and helps to build endurance, muscle strength and cardiovascular fitness. Swimmers will have longer to train for their 1.5k, 2.5k or 5k challenge and they will also enjoy half price entry. Tandridge Leisure's Lisa O'Donnell said: "Swimathon is fantastic as it brings our community together as they raise money for charity, and provides them with a great challenge." Individual and team entries to Swimathon 2011 are open until 6th April 2011. To enter go online to www.swimathon.org or call 0845 36 700 36.
