An exciting new fencing club has opened at de Stafford Sports Centre in Caterham, bringing this ancient and challenging Olympic sport to six to eleven year-olds in the area. Dream Fencing is run by level 5 fencing coach, National Senior Champion and winner of The Bulgaria Cup, Yosif Angelinov. Yosif first started fencing at the age of ten and after years of success in junior, then national championships, started his coaching and refereeing career in clubs in Sofia, the Bulgarian capital. In 2009 Yosif decided to continue his coaching career in the UK, having received offers from clubs both in the USA and in the UK. In addition to the Caterham club, Yosif runs clubs in Fulham, Croydon and Gillingham, Kent. Yosif said: "Dream Fencing Club provides high quality training sessions which not only improves your physical condition, but also your mental concentration, coordination, self-discipline and emotional control. Our fencers are competing in high level national and international competitions and I really hope that the next future champion will be a fencer from our Caterham club. The club is held at de Stafford Sports Centre on Tuesday evenings. For more information call 07581 782848 or visit www.dreamfencing.co.uk |
