Leafe have enjoyed an encouraging and eventful season so far. In the League, a solid 2-0 win against Greenwich Borough, with goals from Bentley Graham and Roscoe D'Sane was followed by an uncharacteristically poor performance in a Tuesday night trip to Sevenoaks Town, which ended in a shock 3-0 defeat. Leafe bounced back with an emphatic 5-1 victory at home to Phoenix Sports, followed by a breathtaking performance in winning 7-0 away to Holmesdale. Leafe could have run up double figures were it not for some harsh offside decisions. Leafe's promising FA cup run, which had continued with a comfortable 3-0 victory at home to Horley Town, was ended sadly in the second qualifying round at home to Chatham. A Ryan Fowler equaliser had given Leafe hope of securing a replay in Medway until a last minute winner from last season's Kent League top scorer Alfie May. Leafe made progress in the FA Vase with a strong and fiercely contested 4-2 victory at home to Windsor FC, overturning a 2-1 deficit. Leafe made national news after the away match against Canterbury City in Herne Bay was controversially called off by the referee because of a kit colour clash, despite manager John rushing to buy a replacement kit from a sports shop in Margate and getting back just in time for the agreed 3.30pm kick-off deadline. The bizarre events were discussed on BBC Radio 5 Live's 606 phone-in programme as well as getting a mention on Sky Sport's Soccer Saturday. Aside from two Macron Cup ties home and away to Phoenix Sports, Leafe's next home League fixture will take place at Church Road on Saturday 16th November against Beckenham Town, kick-off 3pm.
