Caterham Pumas were rewarded for all their hard work in achieving FA Charter Standard status by receiving the famous plaque at Selhurst Park - and witnessing two goal of the season contenders in the process. The club were welcomed on the pitch at half-time of Crystal Palace's Premier League clash with Fulham on Monday 21st October, where moments earlier Whites' midfielders Patjim Kasami and Steve Sidwell had scored two jaw-dropping goals. Established in 1998, Caterham Pumas FC achieved FA Charter Standard status at the end of last season, and have a staggering 22 boys teams, two girls teams and two senior mens teams. The Charter Standard kitemark indicates Caterham are a well run club that offer quality coaching in a fun and safe environment. All their coaches have achieved the Level 1 qualification, are Emergency First-Aid trained and have completed a Safeguarding Children workshop. They are now working towards Charter Standard Community Status for next season - the highest accolade in the programme. Caterham Pumas Secretary, James Hinchliffe, said: "On behalf of everyone at the club, I'd like to thank the Surrey County FA and Crystal Palace FC - it was a brilliant night". Caterham Pumas are a great advert for grassroots football not only in Surrey but across the country, and the Surrey County FA and Crystal Palace FC would like to wish them every success for the future. |
