Get set for the new Caterham Rotary Half Marathon |

Runners at this year’s Caterham Rotary Bunny Fun Run. Caterham Rotary Club is delighted to launch its new Half Marathon, which will take place on Sunday 20th July 2014. The race will start and finish at the Redhill Aerodrome. The event is organised under UK Athletics licence in support of the charity Shooting Star Chase Hospice for children. They support families with children who suffer from life limiting conditions. Participants are also being encouraged to run for their own chosen charity. The North Downs Hospital, Caterham is the main sponsor. Event organiser, Richard York, said: “We are delighted that North Downs Hospital in Caterham have agreed to link up with us on this inaugural event and we are looking forward to a very successful day for all the runners and for the chosen charity. Further support and sponsorship has been agreed with A-Z Maps, First Community Health & Care and Meridian FM. The race has been mapped out around quiet country lanes surrounding the Redhill Aerodrome area and will be run over two circuits of the route. Although the route is not completely traffic free, measures are being taken to ensure safety of the participants. The course is suitable for both experienced and first time Half Marathon runners. Medals and finish line goodies are on offer for all who complete the race plus trophies for the leading runners. A special £100 cash prize will also be awarded to the leading running club with a minimum of ten entrants.
